Covell Park. Asian fusion restaurant with a bit of everything for everybody. It’s kind of like the scene in Rush Hour where Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan walked into the massage parlor to see a bunch of different types of Asian massage therapist.

However, Covell Park doesn’t sell happy endings but Asian fusion cuisine and desserts. Well, they have dessert so I guess you can say they sell happy endings. Just not the stereotypical happy endings Asians are associated with here in the United States.

It’s a fairly large restaurant with modern decor and there’s a bar area. The service was great and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu. They were extremely nice. I’m usually used to the rude Asian service in Southern California and felt awkward when they called me “sir”. What chu say bout my mama?!?

Now, el foodo. That’s food for people who don’t speak Spanish. I’m not going to touch on all the plates but only my favorite. To be honest, I really enjoyed every item we had.
- Lollipop Chicken – Tallequah free range chicken with a side of pickles and topped with orange chili gastrique. The chicken came out perfectly cooked, piping hot and moist. Yes I said moist. It was tender and the chili was for taste. Great appetizer to start and the kids couldn’t get enough of it as if it was sugar laced with cocaine.
Lollipop Chicken - Fried Brussels Sprouts – These were tasty and coated with caramel. The Brussels Sprouts were crispy and had a sweetness to the flavor. That’s saying a lot cause I don’t believe in the health benefits of veggies.
Brussels Sprouts - Carpaccio – Seared tenderloin topped with chili, nuoc mam and garlic chips. The nuoc mam, chili and garlic chips brought out the flavors of the beef. I really enjoyed the topping on the tenderloin like seeing your girlfriend in lingerie.
Beef Carpaccio
After our dinner, we sat at the bar and had a few drinks. The bartender was extremely helpful and knew the drink menu very well. Plus she was quite a cutie. Totally made me want to move to OKC, settle down, and never travel the world ever again. OK. I’m lying.

Overall, I highly recommend Covell Park if you’re ever in the OKC area. I’ve dined at a lot of Michelin restaurants and some of the best restaurants in the world. I would have to say Covell Park would at least be a Bib Gourmand if it was rated on the Michelin Guide. A great place to grab food and hang out in the middle of nowhere. Sorry I’m from LA so OKC looked like a scene from Jeepers Creepers. Who would have thought good food would come out of OKC?
